Default Surprise! CRS confirms Blanco acted in time

In what will probably come as a shock to about 38% of the American public, a Congressional Research Service report confirms that Governor Blanco's actions were sufficient to clear the way for Federal response.

Edit: Non-PDf version here.

Wow. Now, what were 40,000 people doing in a city that was ordered to be evacuated?

This is a report issued with a Democrat spin by one of the key conspiracy theorists in Congress. Google Conyers if you want to see some of his kooky ideas. The CRS can put out reports on either side of an issue to suit the wishes of the requester.

This is just spin, and not based on reality.

So, the fact that the CRS is non-partisan is inconsequential? The only thing that matters is that Conyers released their findings, and therefore these findings cease to be facts and morph into 'spin'?

Do you understand that almost every PAC and interest group and think tank is non-partisan? It is a technical term that allows groups a large leeway of action, but means little as far as whether they are liberal, moderate, or conservative. (Only the political parties are technically partisan)

Moveon.org is non-partisan, The Federalist Society is non-partisan. Will you accept their reports with an uncritical eye?

Oh the irony.

Ad hominem attack aside, which aspects of the formal Stafford Act request, the Presidential disaster declaration, and the Department of Homeland Security National Response Plan fall outside the realm of reality?

Default What Surprise?

Is anyone surprised that after two weeks someone can find a lawyer who disagrees with another lawyer? The facts remain, the Presidents counsel advised him there was not a clear request and drafted an unambiguous request for the Governor to sign, which she refused. Now there is a legal opinion that disagrees.

I don't ever remember a crime, position, or opinion that couldn't attract an army of sympathetic lawyers.

When did this stuff come up about the President's consul making the decision to request a more formal request from Blanco ?
