Live Action Poker magazine- latest unofficial update on delivery
I have some new information for those of you who, like myself, having been waiting for the long-overdue second issue.
As suggested by someone, I called the number listed inside the magazine this evening- it was disconnected. I then called the advertising line and reached a gentleman whose name I didn't catch. He gave me the following information- if anything is incorrect, I garbled it: - A mass email was reportedly sent out, explaining the problems the magazine has been having with distribution. Maybe I was blacklisted, because I have never received any emails from LAP about the magazine, over these last 3 months. - Their distribution problems have been solved and the combined Aug/Sept issue has been sent out supposedly. I was told that I should have it "in a few days" - Next week, I should also be receiving the October 2004 issue of the magazine. After that, the monthly release schedule should be good. I did not ask what the regular release schedule for the magazine would be in the future. I also held back on asking if my subscription would be extended for one month/magazine, or if the combined issue counts as 2 issues towards my subscription coverage. Hopefully I won't be calling them back next week to find out what went wrong. I will report either a successful magazine receipt or a follow-up conversation next week. If anyone else has any information, or has received their late issues, please let us all know. Thanks to whomever it was that I talked to tonight in MS. LL |

Re: Live Action Poker magazine becoming 5th Street Magazine
Mr Eric Rosenberg replied to my inquiry to support@liveactionpoker.com. He said the magazine is changing ownership and will be called 5th Street Magazine.
I'm waiting on his announcement as to when the 2nd and 3rd issues are due now. I would recommend sending your mailing address to eric@liveactionpoker.com if you haven't received your issues yet. |

Re: Live Action Poker magazine becoming 5th Street Magazine
I received issue #2 late last week. I emailed Mr Rosenberg in order to confirm what will be happening with the new magazine subscription and when it would start. I haven't received anything back yet.
A few days later, I received a package with issues 1-3 (July 2004 - Sept 2004) The new magazine's website now has something replacing the semi-naked women picture: http://www.fifthstreetmagazine.com/ If I read this correctly, I guess my subscription to 5th St will start Jan 2005. Hope that helps someone LL ------ Because I'm bored- and I want to consolidate this- here's a history of my RGP posts on the subject... in case you're bored as well: Original post, after not getting email responses in the summer: http://tinyurl.com/5xgp4 Posts checking on status after receiving no email responses to contact from LAP: http://tinyurl.com/67knq http://tinyurl.com/4bkjs After contacting LAP by phone in Oct 2004 http://tinyurl.com/6rmn4 Eric Rosenberg's "official" RGP response on the magazine status http://tinyurl.com/3pn7o |

Re: Live Action Poker magazine becoming 5th Street Magazine
I go "All-in" on 5th Street magazine. It's totally "the nuts." The "royal flush" of poker magazines. Better put on my shades when I'm reading it--otherwise, other players might pick up a "tell" that the magazine is so sweet, and might start reading it themselves.

Re: Live Action Poker magazine becoming 5th Street Magazine
You have a lot of praise for a magazine that you haven't seen yet.
You work for them? |
