Honestly, it's probably something about being such a good dad. When someone tells me something like that I get a lumpin my throat.

But having sexy girl tell you how hot you make them is pretty nice too.

The compliment that made me feel the best was when I was told that I was "a good [guitar] player" by a bandleader who I really respected and admired. I didn't believe him but it felt great.

hmmm....there are a few that stand out in my memory:

"You are a beautiful man."

"You have a beautiful voice, do you sing?"

"I love you"

My youngest son often says, 'daddy, you're the best daddy in the world', and hugs me.

Don't get better than that.

Makes me wish I was.

pretty well said, but hearing something like "I don't think that's going to go in" has a certain ring to it, right?

most of us are too young to get a parenting one that is probably most fulfilling.

I took a year off in between my sophomore and junior years of college to work for City Year. I spent most of my time tutoring/mentoring 4th and 5th graders in an inner-city public school in Chicago. I have a lot of great stories from this year. At the end of the last day of classes, all of the 4th and 5th graders made thank-you cards for me. All of them were signed and quite a few had addresses and/or phone numbers so that I could keep in touch. I think those cards are the best compliment I've ever gotten.

When me and my now wife first got in the sack:

"Wow! It's just like a dick, only smaller."

On my daughter's 10th birthday, she was with her grandmother getting a manicure and pedicure (as a b-day present). The manicurist was talking to my daughter asking her the genreral "what do you like to do" questions people typically asl kids. My daughter told the lady that she liked playing fast-pitch softball, and that she had the best coach in the world.

I am her coach. She has also told me that I am the bast dad in the world.

It is amazing how simple words from a young child can mean so much.

Sometimes when I'm out of town for a few days or something, my cat craps in the middle of the floor to display her displeasure at my absence. I can't imagine a better compliment than a small pile of poop in my honor.
