This is definitely a value bet situation. I also would bet/fold the river against this opponent. He has given you nothing to indicate his hand is better than yours and I think he would call here with many hands that you beat.

I know it was a value bet right after i checked it, he showed med QT for the gut shot so atleast I didnt miss any value this time.
