Default Too Old

I'm 56. I don't feel old and never felt like 56 was old anyway but this just happened this afternoon.

My wife dragged me to the Mall and while she was shopping I did my usual. I found a nice bench and sat and ogled the young trashy girls walking by. As I'm sitting there a man comes over and asks if i would be willing to to do a survey on a new movie that will be coming out.

I never do these surveys and after finding out it would take about 10 minutes, declined. Then I changed my mind and decided it would be a good way to make the time go by while the wife was shopping. So I walked over and told the man that I changed my mind and would do it. The conversation:

Interviewer: Oh good. How old are you, sir?
Me: I thought you were going to ask me questions about a movie. I got to tell you how old I am?

Interviewer: Oh, sorry sir but we need it for the survey.
Me: I'm 56.

Interviewer: 56? Really?
Me: Yes, really.

Interviewer: You don't look it, are you sure you're 56?
Me: (laughing) Yeah, I'm sure.

Interviewer: Oh I'm sorry sir. We can't do the survey.
Me: Why not?

Interviewer: We need someone between the ages of 25 and 54.
Me: I'm 54 then.

Interviewer: But you just said you were 56.
Me: Yes, but I was lying before when I said I was 56.

Interviewer: Sir, no one lies about their age and says higher.
Me: (laughing) Well let's just say I'm 54 and get going on this survey.

Interviewer: Sorry sir, we can't do that, we need someone between 25 and 54.

I was really bothered by this but not so much so that I gave up ogling the young trashy looking girls. I suppose I should be happy the guy didn't believe I was 56.

56 is just a stat. stats dont mean as much as feel, right? if you feel less than 56 they should have let you do it.

As far as average dollars spent, 25-54 is the largest consumer group in America. Every advertising agency, consumer research firm, and media outlet pretty much caters exclusively to that demo.
