So you will lose a maximum to a real hand and let him fold his bluffs?

Well, no that would not be the intent. =/

My line of thinking went like this.
Hero has:
preflop 2 small bets
flop 1 small bet
turn 2 big bets
river 1 big bet
total 4.5 big bets to show down

If he reraised the turn and folded to any further agression he would also have 4.5 big bets. However, he may gain the advantage of getting the villian to fold a better hand such as A high or even a smaller pair on the board. If villian calls the reraise or caps I would assume he's beat with K high. Either way the cost would be the same. Just a theory from a n00b

But I do agree with baron simply calling villain down will slow down their bluffs.

This is an interesting idea. However, the parlay of him having A-high AND folding to a 3-bet (the type of player to c/r here is also likely to call down assuming I still have nothing) is pretty unlikely, relative to the chance that he's beating me or is on a complete bluff and will fold to a 3-bet. If I did this it would be with the intent of folding to a cap, or checking through the river.

I think you make more in the long run by letting him fire another round on his bluff that you beat than trying to fold out an A.
