In the U.S., Congress controls spending. But I'm not surprised Dobbs would try to pin it on Bush.

The policy isn't good. That's why there's a counter movement to start cutting the budget.

I am not sure if it is true, but I do not believe it is good policy, and I doubt many others will, either. Bush won't veto any spending bills, no matter how much pork is in them. There are consequences to that.

Right, the president has nothing to do with spending at all. By this logic, you wouldn't give credit (or criticism depending on you view of the issue) for tax cuts, or (if it occurred) tort reform, or [fill in the blank with any other legislation].

My mouth is only big enough for my own words. But look at Bush's options: veto large spending bills and draw the ire of his Republican support in Congress and therefore risk 1)re-election and 2)future agenda OR pass most of the [censored] and try to work your agenda in there too. But many Republicans finally got full control of the federal gov't and tried to grab as much [censored] as they could and many Democrats had no problem joining in. This is why Tom Coburn is my new Senate hero.

Trolling through forums like this isn't going to catch any real conservatives off guard because any real conservatives are already plenty upset with Bush as well as the GOP Congress - you don't need to point out what we already know. That still doesn't mean any real conservative would have rather seen war-fraud Kerry in the office.

Real conservatives mace people smaller than them and then beat them up.

The American's borrow from the World Bank which has America as its highest shareholder. Let them spend all they want and then forgive the debt. [img]/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

We borrow from China and Japan. Not the world bank.
