Default Palms No-Limit Hold\'em Summer Series - Any info?

Anyone have any info on these tournaments? All I know is they run 2 a day at noon and 7PM. They are either $200 or $500 with a single rebuy. Also they have daily satellites.

Anyone played in these tournaments? What are the satellites like? Below average competition or above average?

I will be in Vegas next week and would like to try one of these tournaments out. Thanks

i played in a $100 STT. the players blow, payouts are like party, and the structure sucks (15 min levels with 600 starting chips at 10/15 blinds then 15/25 blinds then the same from there)

I'm planning on playing in these next week while there, though is 15% typical juice on a $200 tourney? I had heard these were great tournaments to play in though.

This schedule can also be found on the Palms site, I think its under Gaming, Promotions, NLHE.

Anyone know what the starting stacks are for these events?

I've played in a few of the $200 tournies...decent structure:

$1000 buy in with one optional rebuy
blinds start at 10-15
levels are 30 minutes long

the dealers are awesome - very fast so you get an above average number of hands per level.

some fish, but some high caliber players as well - John Myung, the Hendon Mob boys, etc...

defintely worth playing if you don't mind a top-heavy payout structure. I placed 10th in a field of 150 and only made $380...$40 LESS than my entry and rebuy!

But 1st place got over $15,000....

The night I played, Scott Fischman played as well. I will say it again (another thread on this somewhere), I was very impressed with the staff and the structure at the Palms. The tourney was very well organized and lent itself well to actual poker playing. It was NOT a crapshoot. Plan on the rebuy/add-on tho if u plan on playing. I enjoyed the tournies at the Aladdin as well, but I enjoyed my experience at the palms the best.
Good luck,
Les

I played in the Saturday Noon event last week.. Did not have to rebuy.. 110 players...65 rebuys... first place payed $13,500 and 10-18th paid 340... I made the final table.. and cashed out in 10th... got a great Card Cover.. and my money back.. plus had the pleasure of playing against X-22, aka Paul Magriel.. "the Quack Quack" guy..

For your buy in.. you get great service.. Awesome dealers. Hey to John.. and a 5 buck food coupon that you can save and use elsewhere or use for a sandwich, chips and drink..

plus for players who bust out or are waiting.. they will spread any cash game for ya...

Go For it..
