Default Party $100 NL Hand

No real reads here. The tourney started about a half hour ago and I'm 7 tabling, so....

Anyone comfortable with calling off almost half your stack here on the river?

I think you got to save chips and fold.

I understand the value of limping in but with no spades on the board and four opponents, more often than not I will often just check fold this despite top pair. If I choose to play (and I'd have to think this would be not very often), I will either lead out and bet the flop, or check raise the flop.

I don't like check calling - too weak. You need to define your hand quickly and check calling doesn't accomplish that. You tried to represent something on the turn and it didn't work. And you could have tested the waters with less than a pot size bet. But once you get called you know you're done unless maybe you make two pair on the river.

I was in the SB here Lloyd, the preflop is a no brainer.

I think he knew you were on the small blind.

Flop-check/fold to big bet/call minimium bet (played ok)

Turn-check if you dont improve/call another mini bet/fold to big bet

-if you improve/bet out like you did

Oops, you're right Don. I misread his post for "I don't understand the value of limping in." Sorry Lloyd.
