Default Raising the turn with mid pair, getting raised on river

Villain aggressive but not stupid. We have both been taking money from the 3 fish at the table. MP is the biggest fish in the world.

I'm more worried about the flop/turn than the river ???

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls, Button calls, Hero completes, BB raises, MP calls, Button calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (8 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, MP calls, Button calls, Hero calls.

//Called here with intention of C/R any turn. Can you comment on this play?

Turn: (6 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, MP calls, Button folds, Hero raises, BB calls, MP calls.

River: (12 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, BB raises, MP folds, Hero ????

There's a lot of hands that beat me. Calling down is the obvious option.

Final Pot: 16 BB

Lead flop, hopefully aggro villain raises and thins the field. You can also 3bet here and slow down if capped. On the turn your hand is way too weak to checkraise 3 players. A lot of stronger hands than yours will be forced into calldown mode. On the river I guess the pot is too big to fold, but I would expect to see aces or kings here the vast majority of the time, as it looks like he was waiting until the river to raise, as he is less likely to get raised again.

What about just check-raising the flop for value straight away?

I didnt c/r flop because:

a) I didn't want to scare away the fish, who calls down with XXo.

b) I could get extra bets on the turn.

This is a pretty easy river fold. You have second pair weak kicker, and after your turn cr he cant believe your going anywhere.
