Default Moron\'s Guide to Building a Bankroll

Deposit $500 or so, and get a $100 bonus. Work hard to clear the bonus. Continue to play reasonably within you limits and build up to about $800. For some unknown reason, play well outside your bankroll and get dominated. In frustration take your last $300 to a SH NL table and put a match to it.

In frustation, move to another site and deposit $2000. Try to play a guy headsup for $1000. When he sits out, move to a 3 handed 25-50 game and put it all on the line. Play tight, then make a 'move.'

Button ($4200)
Hero ($2100)
BB ($4600)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Button raises to $175, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $575</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls $575.

Flop: ($1200) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $1200</font>, Button calls $1200.

Turn: ($3600) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $325 (All-In)</font>, Button calls $325.

River: ($4250) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I would have sucked out unless he had AA, KK, or AQ, but I definitely felt sick when he called on the flop. Profit for stupidity - about 1300. Fortunately, poker is not all skill.

At what point do you do the only sensible thing and start playing Party Blackjack?

Hmm, after my Vegas BJ experience - Never (Unless they start a random coin-flip/dice roll to see if the dealer hits when he's at 17 or higher and beating me). I like to have the option to suck out. He had good odds to call, but I was ahead.

now for the real answer: do what most forum posters do---in one manner or another---deposit 5,000 bucks----play for a few months, and then post in the stt forum that you have been on a "heater", are "crushing" the games, include lot's of stats, wonder how the games could be this "soft", and finish with, " and i have worked my br to $2500"..........b
