Default 20/40; 88 w/Pos, Overaggressive or Just Right?

SB is 37/22/1.85 ~200 hands, no notes

Game has been, as usual, pretty aggro; 5 handed

** Dealing card to hero: 8 of Spades, 8 of Clubs
UTG folded, CO folded, hero raised , SB called, BB called

** Dealing the flop: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Jack [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
SB checked, BB checked, hero bet , SB raised, BB folded, hero 3B , SB called

** Dealing the turn: King [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checked, hero bet , SB called

** Dealing the river: Ace [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
SB checked, hero bet

Thoughts:

Flop: I thought he was capable of ChR this dry flop w/the club draw or a J, I figured 3B and decided what to do based on the T card and whether he lead or not

Turn: I bet for two reasons, 1) I wanted to charge the club draw the maximum 2) I thought the K gave me some fold equity

River: Ok, I figured he had the J at this point, and I was ready to fold to a ChR, so I fired at this A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] figuring it was the single best bluff card that could fall...

Please explain to me, given your thought process on the flop (he has a J or a club draw), how the Ac on the river makes your river bet logically sound.

I can fold to a raise, if its clubs, or, I can make a better hand, Jack, fold if its not....

IMO this player never folds a better hand on the river, and the fact that the A was a club reduces some of the value in a bet. I'd check behind and take what your turn bet bought you
