Default Mid-pair in mid level

I was just wondering what people though about my line here.

Villain is semi-donkish and pretty loose with his starting requirements. His bet would indicate the flop somehow matches his hand, but I would discount 88/99 to some extent since most open up with that hand when it is folded to them.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) converter

MP1 (t1960)
MP2 (t1170)
Hero (t2095)
Button (t1665)
SB (t1507)
BB (t1055)
UTG (t1343)
UTG+1 (t2705)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 calls t100, MP2 calls t100, Hero calls t100, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t500) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 bets t200, MP2 folds, Hero raises to t1995

375 in the pot preflop? Well.. call it an enhanced PVS if you want, but I am pushing it.

This is a way ahead/way behind hand. When you push the flop you make it easy for villain to lose the least amount of chips while maximizing the ammount you lose if villain is ahead. So call and reevaluate on the turn based on villain's actions and the turn.

I realize that this is a bit risky, but after two limps here, does anyone else think that raising pre-flop to ~500-550 would be bad here?

Most likely, you take down a nice pot pre-flop and you're not faced with this decision. Hero's hand just seems too good to limp with here after no aggression has been shown, and most likely he's going to have to fold post flop. Basically just wasting 100 chips. The stacks of the two limpers are such that they probably won't want to get involved with what are likely less than premium hands.

I'm not used to the larger stacks of PS, so I'm not really sure about this play, but I think that this would be a good spot to throw a raise in PF. Thoughts?

Raising 77 into limpers with these stack sizes is very bad. You almost never see a flop you like.

This is NOT a wa/wb hand. Any card over a 7 could mean that hero loses the pot.

What cards do you want to see on the turn exactly? 2, 3, 5 or 6? In this kind of situation, the last thing you want to do is let people see a cheap turn when, if you are ahead, there are 34 cards that could come and could mean serious trouble for you.

are you sure you didnt mean hero? with ~21 bb, i dont mind limping and playing for set value, but i hate your push on the flop. i'd rather see you call here. with that board he will check the turn 95% of the time. if he does, go ahead and make a small bet at it. i
