Default Re: Push 99 w/10xbb at full table?

It's really important to know how big your stack is relative to the rest of the players. Are you around the average? Is there 1 or more big stacks and a bunch of smaller stacks? I'd be more inclined to push this if I had the fewest chips at the table or was well below average. I'd also probably re-raise here if I was chipleader and the original raiser couldn't hurt me with his stack (this doesn't sound like the situation though).

You're nowhere near desperate to make a move now though with 10x the BB (in terms of being about to bust out). However, if you're the short stack, I'd be more inclined to push since you need to start accumulating chips anyway. Assuming you're around the average in chips, I'd fold this since there are still 7 players to act after you.

I'd probably need about 7x the BB or less to push with an average stack here.

Thanks. That was very helpful. As I recall, my opponent had me covered by about $600 or so. The button was the largest stack. The rest of the stacks were medium stacks, maybe. Some more than me, some less than me. But I don't think anyone else, aside from the chip leader, had a huge lead, altough I was probably on the lower side of those w/medium stacks. At least that is how I recall it. Anyway, you make a lot of good points that I will keep in mind for the future. I'm sure for many of you this is common stuff. But I'm still learning.
