Re: VPIP 30/20 today, 20/15 yesterday.... and tomorrow?
I call BS on this.
30/20 is correct given the right game conditions, and that really is the point. Most people do not understand how to adjust their "game-plan" to the opponents they face (it is the area of the game I am working on right now). While 30/20 might be right against players who can fold, or players who do not know how to defend their blinds but I doubt it is correct in many situations. The ability to identify conditions and adjust is a critical skill when playing this many hands and showing this much aggression. There are games where it is not correct and there are players who do not have the skill to play it. Therefore, it is not always correct today, yesterday or tomorrow. I seem to recall a long time ago, people used to say "there are no absolutes in poker". Which is probably more or less true . Statements such as "30/20 is correct" serve no instructive purpose and many forum readers will be mislead by such statements. Strategy and adaptability are what count, not bland statistics like these which say nothing about post-flop ability, image or game conditions. |

I think I remember that Schneids mentioning that he frequently played tighter than optimal, but he was like 96-tabling or something at the time.

well probably 26-28 yes. But i consider that in the 30/20 general group as opposed to the tag group.
