Re: Called an all in with 10 high at the WSOP
[ QUOTE ]
Not really psychology.. As Mike Matusow would say, Kiril has "Big Balls!" If his opponent saw Kiril's hand, it's fairly obvious the guy is putting a play on Kiril when he moves all in. You just need to have the balls to call it. Also, that could have been an intentional angle shoot by Kiril, a brilliant one at that. "Oh I thought he checkd!?" If the other guy has good hand, he's going to check behind because he knows Kiril is not going to call.. If the other guy can't beat Kiril's hand, he's going to push. [/ QUOTE ] Do you routinely check behind on the river when you are positive you have your opponent beat? Do you dislike money? |

He might have thrown a little bit out there.. a couple small chips or something. If he knew Kiril had 10-high, he's not going to push all in would he? |

Re: Called an all in with 10 high at the WSOP
I suppose by your logic if a push always means that he is behind, he might consider pushing to just give the impression he was behind... maybe he had a better hand and just wanted to say 'all-in' for the fun of it...

Re: Called an all in with 10 high at the WSOP
Certaintly possible..
If the situation ever comes up again, somebody might try the opposite vs Kiril. I imagine though if Kiril thought about the decision for 30-45 seconds though and stared the guy down for a bit, he could pick up all kinds of tells from a bluff that ridiculous. The guy would have been turning white if he saw Kiril was considering calling his all-in with 10-high. |

Precisely!
My post was saying if the other guy had straight or another big hand.. Would he still have pushed all in on Kiril?? |

[/ QUOTE ] Maybe...it's a "he knows that I know that he knows....etc" situation. He pushed all in and got called didn't he? So why would this automatically be out of the question with a big hand. |

Precisely! My post was saying if the other guy had straight or another big hand.. Would he still have pushed all in on Kiril?? [/ QUOTE ] Yes! WTF? There is no other move to make. Either check or all-in. Nothing else makes sense. If you are beating him, go all-in. If you are losing and want to bluff, go all-in. If you are losing and don't think a bluff is +EV, check. No other moves make any sense. They are all dominated strategies. |
