Re: A no kicker in big pot
I prefer a small 1/2 pot bet here.. most KKers will not try a move with an ace out there.. Then if he alls 1/2 pot turn.. if he calls or raises i could find a reason to muck.. river i would check behind.

Re: A no kicker in big pot
thx for the comment
given my read (high pp, very unlikely big ace), I think it doesnt make a lot of sense to bet the flop and represent the Ace - because i am either drawing dead or he is on two outs. On flop and turn i am worried about a set, not my kicker. Obv I dont want my money in if he has trips, but I want him betting his beat PP. I wanted him to think I dont have an ace, but a pp lower than his, or a Qx or flushdraw on the turn. On a non K river I would have called any bet from him. If he checked such a river, i am not sure if I would have checked behind or rather stick to my read an bet the maximum hoping he doesnt believe I have it. I think the last option was most likely to be be my next action. as for the 'I did it to myself' comment from Sawseech, it is true I got myself in this situation. Still i think this is very interesting postflop. I doubt I would have played AK differently. |

Re: A no kicker in big pot
Fold preflop, but nh.
BB is almost definitely on QQ-AA, since players won't reraise big from the blinds with JJ or AK. Once you hit your A, you're only worried about a Q or K falling, so let him bet at you until one does, then cry. |
