But I'm also intrigued by the preflop raise. I'll certainly raise with high SC's in this spot on occasion...but I generally limp here. Is this a variation for you or is it your standard play?

[/ QUOTE ]
From the CO with T9s I generally raise any number of limpers. From two off it depends on the limpers, the CO and Button, the Blinds, and my image, but I'd say overall I end up raising two limpers maybe 30something% of the time and limping the rest. So not exactly standard but not out of the ordinary either.

(or do all of you think GoT's flop/turn play is that obvious?)

[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't want to post my thoughts in my OP, but my flop and turn plays were not necessarily correlated. I.e. I did not call the flop planning to raise most turn cards.

So, can you talk briefly about a handful of turn cards that would have brought about different decisions on the turn with the same action to you and why?

I think the board has become just a little too scary here. Maybe that's timid, but I would just check-chop.

[/ QUOTE ]

The board becoming scary is good for us. Being content with a chop and just checking is giving up a lot.

This is chip spewage.

Your suited connector didn't hit big - you made second to lowest pair. I would have folded this on the flop because a) it is unlikely that 9 will remain top pair after turn/river b) you only hit a pair on a two suited paired board.

Sometimes, depending on reads, I will raise the flop, but it has to be at a table not filled with calling stations.

Would you lead with 9x if you were in the BB ?

Hey guys,

Hand from a 1/2 session. We're 9-handed at the time.

I'm two off the Button with T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. First two fold, EMP (too loose PF with limps, overlimps, and coldcalls; a little too loose on the flop, but pretty avg decent after that, maybe a little too agrro even) limps in. Next to act (pretty solid player all around) overlimps. One fold to me and I raise. Folded to the BB (typical decently solid player all around; probably ~break even in this game in general) who calls, limpers both call. 4 to the flop for 8.5 SB's.

Flop comes: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB bets out. EMP calls, MP folds. I call. 3 to the turn for 5.75 BB's.

Turn comes: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

BB bets. EMP calls. I raise. BB calls after some deliberation, EMP insta-calls. 3 to the river for 11.75 BB's.

River comes: K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Oh my.

A word of advice to all of you newer posters, and I'm being completely serious with this. When GuyOnTilt posts a hand in this forum, you need to sit back and learn. I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say he's the best player that posts in small stakes.
