Wouldn't a good player make their way to lvl 3 often for much less than $215? Or are you suggesting that the time investment isn't worth it to such a good player?

[/ QUOTE ]

These 2-tops take some time to get through. . .IMHO the time involved w/ "climbing the steps" doesn't appeal to a high lever SnG player.

I know it goes against Party's(mo money) business model, but they should not allow people to buy in directly ahead(ala tourney). That way people like me will actually take a shot at this thing. There's no point for me to go through 4 levels just to play strassa2, gigabot, zeejustin. People will soon realize that the same people are playing the 1k tourney, and no one will play except those crazy 200+15 SNG masters.

People like Zeejustin will still play in the 5th round, but they will have to qualify for it. This way I won't have to play the specialists everytime I make it!

I'm 3rd in chips in one of these 1k's with 9 left if someone wants to come watch me blow it.

Unfortunate to have that person on your right. Seems that you are holding your own though.

Did you buy in directly to Step 5 or buyin at a lower level?

I bought in directly. Yeah, I'd honestly have Gig on my left because he isn't very likely to take a shot at me(at least I've never seen him do it). Got a decent amount of his blinds on the first table.

Was the play at the start of 'Step 5' comperable to the regular 215's or slightly less than that? I would guess it to be about the same since there has not been much time for many others to work their way up.

About the same. But I usually play ring games now, though I used to play 2-4 200s while I played my ring games. No spectacular plays from what I've seen, with about 4-5 bad players. The rest seem like they are probably winners in the 200 SnGs.

Thanks for the answers. I have been playing the 50's mostly with some play at the 20 and 30 levels during the weekdays. After putting in about 150 games at the 100 level and doing ok (not too great but still profitable) I have just started dabbling in the 200's (just under 30 games with a slight loss so far). I was wondering how these would play before many get to grab spots from playing all the way up.

I'll be watching, good luck!

I personally think the 100 SnG's are more profitable for a good but not great player than the 200s.
