Default Local Charity Tourney

Hello All,
First time poster, been lurking for 3 mo. or so. Great site, I have learned tons! I have been playing poker seriously for 6 months now, mostly hold em 11 sng and 25nl games on party and a weekly home game with 1 trip to foxwoods thrown in on my birthday. I consider myself average with a lot to learn still. Have read TOP, TPFAP and am 1/2 way through HOH.

I had a strategy question about a upcoming local charity tourney being put on by a friend of mine. 140 ppl, buyin is $100 for T3000 chips, one rebuy allowed in first 3 levels if you go below T500. Rebuy is $50 for T1500 chips. 1 anytime Addon for $50/T1500 allowed in first 3 levels. Top 14 places pay (half money goes to charity I think) 1st is guaranteed $3500.

Sounded ok (I live 2.5 hrs. from FW) until I found out the blind structure. It is really bad, 30 min levels: 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, 400/800, 500/1000, etc. no antes. Starting stack is only 15X BB!! With newbie dealers I can't imagine too many hands per round, so I feel this will just end up being an all-in fest. I am committed to playing unfortunately, so what would be a sound strategy? I don't think I will rebuy or addon as the structure rewards luck and not skill. Is that sound? Hope I am running hot to start?

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any advice

you should def add on. Just adjust to your table, but I would be TAG as a default with this kind of structure.
