Cards %win %lose %tie Pot equity Odds
9d Ah 59.09 40.91 0.00 59.10% 1.44:1
Jc 8c 40.91 59.09 0.00 40.90% 0.69:1

He does have odds to call as he is a 1.44-1 dog. If he thinks his jack is no good, then, for example:

Cards %win %lose %tie Pot equity Odds
Qd Qh 65.91 34.09 0.00 65.90% 1.93:1
Jc 8c 34.09 65.91 0.00 34.10% 0.52:1

Then he doesn't quite have odds.

question for the commentators:

where did you guys learn how to calculate odds and assigning %'s to ranges of hands that your opponent is holding?

i am wondering b/c i need to work on this myself and would be interested to know where you got started, etc. was it just by playing or were there specific books/resources you used that you liked?

he cant think 18 are good --- 15 ... he prob doesnt think his Jack is good -- moon is betting an overpair .. so that reduces his # of outs (in his own mind)

Oops. They were betting on the river, right? Nevermind.

There's a very strong case to be made that haven't learned how.

Default Giving away your hand

...by calling out 'this is my favorite hand' and letting you know they have Aces or 69

.. hey at least it helps you to not 'go all in to his nuts'

Next time I play in this game I'll try to play better. I'm pretty sure I flubbed quite a few hands. I probably gave off tells all over the place (I was dead tired and I don't play well tired). I'm sure whoever came in after me was looser than I was.

Oh well, at least the KK vs KK hand was a chop....

Wasn't that you who flopped quads and started giggling?

I had trouble holding back the giggles once when I flopped quads. Quad aces, no less. Limit game. It was capped on every street, and I never put in a raise. Not one. That was about fifteen years ago. I don't think you'd see that today.
