Why don't your parents put the computer in the living room or some place where there is a lot of traffic ? I agree with putting the cyber thing on your computer by the way. Especially since there is a 7 year old in the house.

[/ QUOTE ]

This will cause unnecessary friction in the family.

Yea. I could see this. When he pulls up the porn and starts spanking it in the living room.

Will this new installation interfere with the creation of your basement casino?

Has anyone noticed the OP is the same person posting here trying to get people to play Yahoo games for money all weekend and then responded to someone saying he had a gambling problem with " I need a little side action"?

This sets off major warning bells in my mind that this kid is developing a serious gambling problem at 16 years old.If I were his parents I would be very concerned by this. I am not against teaching kids responsible gambling at a young age (high school) by letting them play among friends or in home games, but when you post on a message board looking to gamble on non-gambling games because playing internet poker is not enough of a fix for you then that just screams gambling addiction to me.

Your parents hopefully for your sake put this on here to keep track of exactly what it is you are doing on the net. Somehow I don't think they would be thrilled to see you gambling on Litteratti or Risk. They would probably be thrilled to find porn on the pc rather than this.

You bring up an excellent point. My bro had a friend come up and we taught him poker before his senior year. That year he and my brother built up from 5$ to like 1500$ before they parted ways to college. He ended up playing a lot and dropped a couple classes and then finally just dropped out. He lived a horrible exsistence his senior and freshman years (I don't think he realizes how horribly -EV he was). I think he's going to college somewhere crappy next year. Still, kid had a MAJOR gambling problem and that could be where our friend is heading. But hell, whenever I'm home I'm always trying to play some cards so who am I to judge.

I highly doubt this will work, but it's worth trying. I was stuck in a Malaysian airport hotel once and tried accessing ESPN.com and twoplustwo in the business center but they were blocked. I eventually figured out that I could google espn.com and click on the link and get past the censor. Obviously the success of this strategy was likely based on Malaysia being a 3rd-world dumpster but it's worth a shot.

Im glad you said this Clark. Im in shock that people are happily providing a minor with info on how to circumvent his parents' rules.

Does something click inside of people once they turn 30 that makes them think there's something wrong with teenagers having pornography? Let the kid have his fun-it's not like he's breaking important rules and doing heroin or joining a gang.

Ideally children shouldn't have Internet access in a private room. Best to keep the computer in the family room where the door is open at all times and the computer is turned on only when the parents or other responsible adult is present.

computer isnt in private room, its right in the open in the living room
