The WSOP is becoming a joke, rather than several hundred of the best players in the world it's now several hundred of the best + several thousand complete idiots and celebrities. The very nature of poker says the odds of one of the better players winning is very small.

This would be like the NCAA playoffs allowing eery single division I, II, and III school, every junior college, every high school, and every junior high school basketball team in one big tournament. What are the odds of the best team actually winning it?

[/ QUOTE ]

pretty good acutally. there is no luck involved in sports. poker is a totally different story as has been proven tonight.

The english FA cup is open to every team in the country and is invariably won by a top-division side, and there is much more randomness in soccer results than basketball results.

1. Barch
2. Donkeymann
3. Hachem
4. Kanter

And was that Donkeymann's crew mocking Black again with the "Ole" chant, or were those his guys celebrating?

black 10-10
dannenman ak

all in pf

[/ QUOTE ]

why the hell is black pushing with 30BB?

[/ QUOTE ]

black to 600k, dannenmann to 2.5mil, black push

[/ QUOTE ]

black can't be faring well with his 1010 vs. dannenman's range here

[/ QUOTE ]

He raised from the button and Dannenman re-raised from the BB. His range should be relatively big here.

That said, people have been pretty passive in this spot all night.

[/ QUOTE ]

this seemed optimal for a stop 'n go if you want to play it this way

but i guess the payout scale is very top heavy - a push is probably +ev

Especially in hindsight. I might have played it that way, but then again I suck. But if an overcard flops, it gets trickier. On a flop like that though, he probably wins it. Then there's the possibility that you're against JJ-AA.

Like what's been said about Ivey, for example, Black seemed a lot better than some of these guys, maybe try to play smaller pots and see flops.

But like I said, some better analysis might prove me to be wrong about this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems Hachem has been playing pretty solid, and I give him credit for hanging on so long shortstacked.

I hope he finishes second to Tex.

WTF?

Phil: Moneymaker didn't improve his game.

Jesus: Moneymaker did improve his game.

Phil: Absolutely. I agree.

he's gained himself 500K in real money already - i'd be playing exactly the way he is

he hasn't won any pots really - he hasn't really been involved - but hanging on while the internet donks hack it up
