Re: AL postseason awards
i am being unfair to schilling saying he sucked as a closer. he was very unlucky during that time. however, i still think the time would have been much better served preparing/rehabbing him as a starter.

Re: AL postseason awards
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] No one has answered my question yet. In that crucial 9th inning at bat in the biggest game of the year, who would you want up there? And yes he does have a cool nickname. [/ QUOTE ] even if i picked ortiz, the MVP would still be clearly A-rod. not only does A-rod have better offensive statistics, he plays a important position whilst Ortiz sits on the bench. [/ QUOTE ] Sublime, I must give you a lot of credit. You are really a quite intelligent Red Sox fan and it is clear that you are not biased at all when it comes to talking about baseball as some on here are(like Toro and Voltron). |

Re: AL postseason awards
[ QUOTE ]
Why hasn't anyone trotted out Arod's batting average with runners in scoring position, 262. It was bad last year too. But this stat doesn't support your argument, so lets just ignore it. [/ QUOTE ] Oh my god he's so CLUTCH, just like Jeter is clutch. |

[ QUOTE ] And as I'm typing this, Ortiz gets a clutch hit. [/ QUOTE ] Well, that settles it. [/ QUOTE ] Giambi did tonight as well with that 2 run blast off the DRays. Jesus he is so clutch. Let's make him MVP right now. |

Re: AL postseason awards
[ QUOTE ]
garland? he isnt even having the best year on his own team. some could argue garcia is even having a better year. [/ QUOTE ] Buehrle: 28 starts, 203.2 IP, 15-7, 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 127 K, 32 BB Garland: 27 starts, 186.1 IP, 17-8, 3.28 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 93 K, 37 BB Garcia: 28 starts, 194.1 IP, 12-7, 3.75 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 131 K, 52 BB Contreras: 27 starts, 166.1 IP, 10-7, 4.06 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 124 K, 64 BB Garland may not be the best pitcher on his own staff, but that's not a bad thing. And Garcia is closer to Contreras than he is to Garland. |

Re: AL postseason awards
I think it's real close between Buehrle and Garland for who is the #1 starter, but Garland does have 2 more W's so that will get him more votes for CYA.
Their WHIPs are very similar. |

Re: AL postseason awards
Agreed. Whether they deserve it or not, I doubt either will win due to vote splitting.

Agreed. Whether they deserve it or not, I doubt either will win due to vote splitting. [/ QUOTE ] I think Colon will end up getting it actually, just because he'll have way more W's than Santana. I do think that Santana deserves it more though. |
