Re: Worst TV plays ever
I'd forgotten about that one. Yeah, that was some awful heads-up play.

[ QUOTE ] Jerry Buss heads up against Huck Seed. Not one hand, but the greatest example of someone being outplayed I have seen. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure you meant against Layne Flack, at the 1st WPT Invitational. [/ QUOTE ] I like Layne's fold to Jerry's flop call. |

Murphy pushing into Arieh's rivered K high flush Tuan Le... everything he does Hoyt Corkins' hand against Cassidy in the USPC with the A and trip jacks [/ QUOTE ] Really agree with the Murphy play. He was in such a good position until he just got lazy. It really seemed that he was satisfied to win the 200K (not that I wouldn't be) and took a very unnecessary risk. Re: Worst TV plays ever
Reed's play is #1 in non-celeb poker
Celeb Poker Showdown had 3 plays that make Reed look like a genius. (Thanks to P Gordon and Bluff) Hand #1 (Not aired yet) Board is 3d,4d,7h,Qs Player A: with 5d 6d (nut straight with S flush draw) checks Player B:Bets pot Player A:FOLDS! Hand 2 J Gordon (t44,400) raises to 5000 (1k-2k blinds) A Dickinson goes all-in for 5600 J Gordon FOLDS 600 to go for a 10K pot! Hand 3 C Manheim has the nut flush, no s flush or f house poss, and check-folds.( Forgot she hand the Kd) |

It's pretty hard for Arieh to fold the K-high flush here, and Murphy thinks that Arieh is paying him off a lot of the time here with a very good hand. Arieh just thought one level higher, and made a very good laydown. Still, nowhere near the Tommy Reed turn fold. |

Re: Worst TV plays ever
I know the celeb poker shows shouldn't count here, since there's just too many bad plays to count, but I saw one on that god-awful Poker Royale comedians vs pros the other day that takes the cake:
Don't remember the exact board, but Robert Williamson has K3s and goes all in on the flop with a flush draw. Comedienne I don't recognize, who is the short but not insignificant stack, calls off the rest of her chips with an UNIMPROVED 32o and no draw. Of course the flush doesn't come in, she hits a 2 on the river, and goes on to win. Good god. |

Re: Worst TV plays ever
[ QUOTE ]
But after a lot of thought, I realized, there was no value bet there. If Forrest bets, how much? He's made the second nuts and if he makes a huge bet, he could be betting right into DN's fourth six. And if he makes a huge bet DN probably folds. If he makes a small bet, DN could raise him and maybe send off some alarms, considering the way Danny played the hand. Ultimately, there was no value bet on the river, and thus, in my mind, a check makes sense. [/ QUOTE ] You're overthinking it big time. The value bet here is ANY bet when Daniel has the other ace! He will call! |
