Re: The worst city in America with a major sports franchise...
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] This argument should begin and end with Jacksonville, FL. [/ QUOTE ] you're an idiot. ever even been there? I mean, its not the hippest place, but its a pretty damn nice place to live. [/ QUOTE ] Jacksonville Beach - yes. Jacksonville - not so much. I just moved from the latter to the former. |

[ QUOTE ] HOUSTON BLOWS!!! Imagine living in a high school locker room, complete with the smell, and you'll have it nailed. The traffic alone should be grounds for justifiable homicide. [/ QUOTE ] this is almost my mother's exact description of houston, she was born and raised there and has never regretted leaving. i like houston though, there is tons of stuff to do...if only you can get there through the traffic [/ QUOTE ] traffic in houston? what is the freeway two lanes? I can't imagine it even being close to anything in LA. |

[ QUOTE ]
How could this thread be this long with no mention of Sacramento? [/ QUOTE ] Sacaramento is an ok city. Not too big, not too crowded, close to San Fran and Tahoe. Weather is ok (too hot in summer.) Nice rivers. There is worse. |

Re: The worst city in America with a major sports franchise...
I live just outside of Buffalo, have the majority of my life. Also lived in Tampa during the Super Bowl win and Stanley Cup win. Buffalo is an infinitely better sports town. If you're criticizing the actual city...Buffalo definitely has some negative points, but in terms of fans, etc...it's ridiculous here. In Tampa, you'd hardly know they even won anything. If Buffalo won the SuperBowl (yes, it's entirely hypothetical), the town would explode. We also have casinos...so I can't complain too much.
I vote for New York City, Philly or Detroit in no particular order. |

I can't believe someone said "Dallas" sure the sports have seen better days there but the city is great. [/ QUOTE ] As Hank Hill said of Dallas: "The only thing there are debutants and crackheads--and half of them play for the Cowboys." |

Re: The worst city in America with a major sports franchise...
Hey, Winnipeg is a bit of a hole, but I think Blue Bombers is a pretty cool name. Regina is probably the smallest, loneliest town of all listed on this post. So flat you can watch your dog run away for two days. Roughriders is a bad name too, I favoured the Rough Riders of Ottawa.
