Someone willing to give me 3-1 on a 25-50 dollar bet that Ivey wins it all....... Maulik????? I also like 1-1 Ivey will make final table...

[/ QUOTE ]

If you were a sportsbook, I'd bet almost my entire bankroll at 1-3 that Ivey does not win.

Since I don't know you, though...

It's a pretty moot point, given that he turned down a mere $50 at 3-1 from me.

This is the same guy who in an earlier thread , after ranting about Ivey's godlike abilities, claimed that he couldn't be bothered to bet against somebody laying him even money that both Ivey and Raymer would miss the final table unless the amount were more like $1,000 instead of the $10 proposed.

How many of the final 58 appeared in the original betting lines? Which players were known before the start of the 2005 WSOP?

Sounds to me like he was picking off a bluff.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes of course he was picking off a bluff. But is he 100% sure it's a bluff, of course not. So say he's only 60 or 70 % sure it's a bluff. Is it worth it knowing that even though you may be correct, you still have to have that bottom pair to stand up to the turn and river cards.

Weighing all of that, I would never call at that stage of the tourney.

[/ QUOTE ]

You have no idea how sure he was. You have no idea how big the pot was. You have no idea how big his stack was. You must be really good at poker if you can make this decision without any of the information most people would use to make this call. If I had posted that Matusow beat Phil Ivey on this hand rather than my friend, would you have said all this?

Well he's got two other 2 million plus stacks at his table, so the potential is there.

What I'm waiting to see is for Tiffany Williamson to cripple him...

All in all, I'd have to root for him either to just miss making the final table, or perhaps be the first person eliminated at the final table. Either way, I'd like his opponent to catch him on a bluff by calling with something incredibly marginal, like Q-high, so that we can watch him completley implode.

Fair enough, I was giving a general answer to the general info you provided. So provide the details and maybe we can all get something out of a discussion of the hand.

As for your last statement, my opinion wouldn't change regardless if it were your friend or a seasoned pro. But with all due respect to your friend, I think a seasoned pro would be more likely to lay the hand down and pick a better spot for his chips.

Would probably be frustrating to be at that table, between Mike's constant yammering and Tiffany's constant stalling.

I just can't win in this forum. If Greg Raymer would have made this call with K3, there would be a 100000 post thread about how awesome it was.
