Try to roll doubles. wtf are you talking about? This seems like rubbish to me and thus inconsequential.

[/ QUOTE ]

Late in the game, jail is the best place to be.

You are forced to either pay 50 to get out, or try to roll doubles (if you fail to roll doubles on 3 consecutive turns, you are forced to pay $50)

So... since jail is good late in the game, you are going to be trying rolling doubles instead of paying.

There are 2 doubles comibnations that land on orange spaces, and 1 that lands on pink (all other doubles land on non regular property spaces)

Thank you. That was the elaboration I needed.

Are you sure about those oranges beating my beloved greens? Don't have board in front of me, but I would think the greens would be likely to getting landed on given your in the orange zone - i.e. 13-15 spaces away = 2*(most likely dice rolls). Plus, you're getting paid off more obviously.

[/ QUOTE ]

Greens are one of the worst properties in Monopoly. The return on investment is poor since they're so expensive to build up and don't get landed on frequently. The Go to Jail space right before it has something to do with it.

Oranges are the best, then Boardwalk/Parkplace, then the Reds.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would think that red would be second to orange. See Jordan's post to understand based on the probability of landing on certain squares. Basically, you're more likely to land on orange than any other colour. If you understand the reason behind this from Jordan's post, the times that you miss you are highly likely to have undershot and hit pink and then based on probabilities of dice rolls, be highly likely to hit red on your next roll or overshot and hit red. Moreover, red is still fairly cheap to develop but the pay off is huge. The dark blue consists of only two squares and is thus less likely to be hit and moreover, it's expensive to develop.

If you look through a link in this thread, Red actually contains the third most hit square, only behind 1. Jail and 2. Go.

Orange is unique, in that it has the highest average.

EDIT: also, this thread continues to rule.

Sorry. Too lazy to look for the link. Is it Illinois? I was going to hypothesize that in my previous post.

Yes, this thread does rule. It has already made the best of 2+2 list.
