Cyrus, it wasn't just the misrepresentation; it was the defamatory nature of that misrepresentation.

People CAN conduct themselves with a modicum of civility, and not flat-out lie about other posters in a defamatory manner--even when discussing politics.

I know that might be a hard concept for you to fully accept, but I feel confident that if you really stretch yourself you will find some way to get your head around it. After all if a dog can chase its tail surely a Cyrus can eventually come round to a different conclusion--someday.

Let me relieve everyone of that pain, man:

If Jokerswild was moderating (there's a thought...) and MMMMMM was the poster who got banned, what exactly (on the basis of my many posts on the matter of moderation) makes you think that I would not condemn the banning in equally strong terms?

To be fair, never did I say that EVERYONE who disagrees with M6 politically disagrees with him as a mod. Either in this thread or the longer one RE: jw's banning, andyfox came to the defense of MMMMMM's banning of jw. But those who most vehemently oppose the banning apear to be those who just don't like M's views in general.

I would like to think that if you disagree with the banning of jw in this case, that you would disagree equally with the banning in reverse. However, the fact of the matter is that the banning was indeed in order. And I would say that for either person given the same set of circumstances.

I enjoy reading political discussions. And while I understand that politics are a topic that will work people into a frenzy, I don't see why people can't act in a mature adult manner. This forum will be 1000 times better if we weed out those who act inappropriately, according to the guidelines set out by 2+2 and the mods.
