Re: An Army story
[ QUOTE ]
The biggest dick move got me thinking and I hadn't remembered this for a long time. I don't really think it classifies as a dick move although probably not the best decisions were made. When I was stationed in Korea I shared a room with 3 guys one of them one of them Brian, was really cool and my best friend, the other dan was really weird and not cool. one time me brian and another friend mccalin came into the room and dan quickly went into the bathroom and then after a brief amount of time took off. Well a few minutes later I notice there is one of my movies in my VCR. My TV/VCR is set up directly across from bed in a way which can only be viewed by sitting on my bed. I look at the movie and it was like some horror movie I had and Mclain chimes in with "I bet he was beating off on your bed and its at the shower scene" well I pop the movie in and low and behold its on the [censored] shower scene. This is disturbing to me. Well we get to talking and one thing leads to another and we start to wonder about old Dan. So we search his locker which he didnt lock it, Im gueessing from being in such a hurry. First thing we find is stack of old porn magazines no big deal. Next thing we find are some photographs. Now not just any photographs but pics of a young girl probably 12ish sitting on some steps in shorts. only she has the shorts pulled inward at the groin so you can see here bare pussy. well now we're at a whole another level. next we find a unmarked video tape. we play it. scene one - is of 3 girls being filmed in what looks like a hotel swimming pool from behind some bushes. it lasts for about 10 minutes. scene 2 starts in the dark. then the person holding the camera obviously turns on a flash light and what do we see. A rather large woman sleeping on a couch under a blanket. Well mr. cameraman slowly lifts away the blanket revealing a now completely naked rather large middle aged woman. it doesnt stop there oh no. the camera an seemingly puts the flashlight in his mouth and starts to play with what we assume is passed out naked rather large middle aged woman. this goes on for 2-5 minutes tops. scene 3 starts with our roommate Dan sitting on a large bed, being filmed. He then quickly pulls down his shors and beats off right there on camera. He finishes in some toilet paper with some very animated facial expressions, pulls up his shorts and turns the camera off. well we don't really know what to do at this point. tell our superiors? do nothing? give him [censored]? oh no. we take it to a next level. now most Army barracks will have what is called a rec room which is basically a unit family room with usually a large TV, VCR and something like a pool table. now in korea with nothing much to do people love to watch movies and will pop anything in that old VCR. so we head on down and when nobody is looking put that thing smack dad on top of the VCR, fast forwarded right to scene 3. It's a Saturday so just about everyone is on free time. well what do you know but not 4 hours later there is a big commotion a brewing and the tape is being played again and again while more and more people are being brought in. well it turns out this probably wasnt the best idea as not two days later Dan killed himself. [/ QUOTE ] Murderer. |

Re: An Army story
People can be cruel sometimes unintentionally and also even intentionally when in authority. I was TDY to a TRADOC basic training unit for a few months and one day I was in a company's office on Saturday and an assistant drill was on duty. This trainee comes in and the drill is fuggin with him. Now this guy had about an 80 IQ at best and never was happy. So the drill asked him if he had ever thought about killing himself, and the trainee said yes. Then the drill told him to make sure that if he cut his wrists to cut along the vein and not across to get the job done, and that a good spot to do it would be in the woods down the road. Now the drill thought he was just being funny, but when the trainee answered yes he should have stopped right there.
So the trainee runs out upset and I go find him, and he is behind a locker crying. So I take him in an office and ask him if he wouldn't really rather just get out of the army, and he said yes. So I arranged for him to get discharged based upon what he said and his mental state. He never should have been allowed to enlist in the first place and some recruiter probably was just enhancing his quota. When dealing with depressed people like this, or with the person mentioned by the OP who is likely to suffer such shame at humiliation, deserved or not, that he might get depressed by such, people often just don't think what the impact of their words or actions could be. |

Re: An Army story
Were you shaking so bad with the furious anger flowing through your body that you didn't realize that quoting the entire OP just to tack one word on at the end was completely unnecessary, not to mention completely worthless as far as being interesting or generating discussion?

Re: An Army story
And another thing, whats with all the ruckus in the rec room? If someone said, "Hey Brad come watch this tape of Joe whacking off" I'd be like, "um, no thanks".

Re: An Army story
My random thoughts from the thread:
dick move - yes world is a better place without him - yes murderer - no way you meet the weirdest people in the military - yes you meet the greatest people in the military - yes lots of elements of Jarhead in this story - yes I think it's a true story - yes Peace Brother |
