Re: Downswings (no hand content)
[ QUOTE ]
I read just about every post you make, cause you are just that good. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks, homie. [ QUOTE ] Analyzing them = good. Just as analyzing upswings, flatswings, and side swings = good. [/ QUOTE ] Okay, I'll rephrase--overanalyzing downswings (and I believe trying to draw conclusion from 5k hand samples is overanalyzation) is a bad, bad idea. Puttin preasure on yourself to produce shrot term results in poker makes it way tougher on yourself than it needs to be. |

Okay, I'll rephrase--overanalyzing downswings (and I believe trying to draw conclusion from 5k hand samples is overanalyzation) is a bad, bad idea. Puttin preasure on yourself to produce shrot term results in poker makes it way tougher on yourself than it needs to be. [/ QUOTE ] Agree 100% with the caveat that reviewing one's play regularly is worthwhile, as long as such review is undertaken to analyze one's decision-making process and not to "explain" short-term results. Analyzing one's play in a belief that it will quickly improve short-term results is doing so for the wrong reason. And putting pressure on oneself to produce short-term results in poker is indeed a recipe for diaster. |
