"Profiling players is a good thing, but it should be based on stuff we've observed. I had never ever ever seen this person get out of line. They never said anything bad, never visibly steamed, nothing.

And yet, for some reason, I thought that they were a handgrenade waiting to explode because of race, gender, appeaarance, and topics of conversation."

josh im still not really getting what youre saying (maybe) because youre not being specific. i dont know what this means:

"I thought that they were a handgrenade waiting to explode because of race, gender, appeaarance, and topics of conversation."

could you explain?

thanks, mike

I thought that this person was going to explode and go on tilt and throw cards at the dealer and cuss, etc.

I thought this because of their race, gender, etc, etc, etc...

Is there a gay angle here that I'm missing? -- if there was that would be totally cool. I'm just curious.

Default gabe: dealer abuser

"was it rick?"

rick wouldnt do that. he gets flustered and implodes a little, kind of caves in like a souffle, sinks in his chair a bit even, maybe purses his lips. rick does get up and walk endlessly thus breaking bad games.

gabe on the other hand has this little game that only he is convinced anymore is a game. he throws his cards, gives the dealers and floor and other players a hard time and makes a general nuisance of himself in the cardroom. he always does it under a guise of making a joke or being sarcastic but sometimes the anger in his eyes seems so genuine no one would ever know the difference. "this dealer kill me every time! dealer when you leave?!" "why you raise player? every time you raise, you lose!" and so on and so forth for hours and hours. he confessed to me recently that they almost kicked him out of the borgata for his joking, which apparently no one found funny. furthermore, last night we were talking about creating poker games and all of his game ideas seemed to center around devising a way to get more people at the table angry and riled up and on tilt, games where multiple people could lose pot sized bets trying to guess what precise cards the winner of the hand held. his thinking wasnt "yeah one could have a real edge in this game and make some money", it was "so then 2 or 3 people could lose several hundred dollars all at once and all of them would be so pissed! it would be GREAT!"

so just wanted to clarify why i asked if it was gabe and why asking if it's rick didnt make any sense to me.

I don't purse my lips.

"rick does get up and walk endlessly thus breaking bad games."

Just one or maybe two times to break a bad game so the casino and players would start the bigger, better game they really wanted anyway. It was plus EV for everybody.

"furthermore, last night we were talking about creating poker games and all of his game ideas seemed to center around devising a way to get more people at the table angry and riled up and on tilt, games where multiple people could lose pot sized bets trying to guess what precise cards the winner of the hand held. his thinking wasnt "yeah one could have a real edge in this game and make some money", it was "so then 2 or 3 people could lose several hundred dollars all at once and all of them would be so pissed! it would be GREAT!"

Gabe better not steal my idea. "Speculation NL Holdem" is the game of the future, sort of the way limit Omaha high only was about twenty years ago.
