Ugh, so I'm woken up this morning before 8am when the mother-in-law calls (we screen all calls) and all I hear is this stupid stuffed animal she has giggling and singing "happy birthday to you" for the wife (on the answering machine)

We went to bed around 2am and forgot to shut the ringer off, and I'm woken at 8am. To make my morning even more joyful, enroute back to bed, I step in cat throwup. It can only get better from here? [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Don't "have to" but I sure did - I don't remember the chip counts, but I know I couldn't afford to lose that race at that point in time and still have a comfortable stack. I wound up finding much better places to get my money in the middle [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I still think it was a bad play:

1. I was shorter-stacked

2. You're on the button and it's folded to you, so my push could be seen as a move to take away your "steal" from position

3. I could have easily been pushing A/Q or A/J in that spot as well. With A/K and your chip stack (of which, if I recall correctly, you had a pretty large stack at that point) it should have been an insta-call. All you really have to fear is A/A or K/K, and those are less likely given your holding.

You chose to protect your big stack, rather than take risks with it. Kinda funny how Ghettorat is a Yankees fan and hyper-aggressive and you're a Red Sox fan and a bit more selective and conservative. He re-pushed with pocket 4's for chrissakes after I short-stack pushed with my Ace. Some crazy stuff that game, can't wait for another one.

I read you for a mid-to-high-pair, and I did not want to race there. Yes, you were shorter-stacked, but it was still enough to hurt me - about 1/3 of my stack. Not to mention the fact that I didn't want to double you up, so I still do not regret that laydown.

That being said, I can't wait for another one either. Kilgore, get on that!
