Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider, Who sat down beside her And said, "Hey, what's in the bowl, bitch?" Ohhhhhh! |

Who knew that some people could find someone to hate more than Mattias Andersson.

Or maybe she's trying to decide what to do.

I don't think she knows enough to consider it angle-shooting. She's just taking way too long, too many times with these critical decisions. But I'm not the one who's going to be at Binion's knowing I've won at least 300k. Not bad for someone who took a 10£ tournament, finishing in the top 3 in a 150£ tournament to get to Vegas, then wins a 1k super to the ME and stumbles her way to the last 27. It's something most of us will never do, and most of you would be happy rooting that person on (that is if you weren't delaying or hitting sucking-out your way through it).

No no. It's about identification and structure of the sentence.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It's sexist because "woman" is used to identify the person. Is that not obvious? BTW, I agree with your initial point, I thought it was funny you feared racism, but didn't mention her race, just her gender and sexual inclination. [/ QUOTE ] I agree dyke is homophobic but this is ridiculous, there's nothing strange or derogatory about calling a woman a woman. If I said, "that man has had the clock called on him three times in one hand," is that sexist? You're being absurd, you clearly can't say that man/guy/dude and while you could say "person", there isn't any reason not to say woman. [/ QUOTE ] If we really want to get into a semantics battle, "dyke" and "woman" are just words. Words are words. People are homophobic and sexist. And I didn't say anything about them being "strange or derogatory". Those are your notions. It is a matter of degree which I think you are overemphasizing. Using "woman" in that context is sexist in my opinion, but to a very minute degree. |

I suppose you're right that it's not the actual word itself, because I do believe that the word "woman" can be derogatory and sexist in the wrong context. But I disagree that it is here.
