The fact is, he's getting better and stronger with each start. He had a couple of fastballs reach 93 today. His 3rd start was better than his second which was better than his 1st. He may never come back to be the ace he once was, but I expect by playoff time he'll be a solid, dependable pitcher.

And how about Keith Foulke. He looked pretty good today.

i didnt see foulke. schilling went 6 ip 4 er? dont wet your pants. has he had a good moment yet? and one perfect inning in relief where he struck out two devil rays doesnt count. i said earlier that in the back of my head i refuse to count him out, but until i see him pitch goot im not "scared". i dont care how unlucky he got, or if he hit 93. hes got to put together a good start before i even start taking him seriously again.

I didn't say he pitched a great game...even a "good" game. I said he was getting better and I'm looking forward to his next couple of starts.

kevin brown had a LONG history of various ailments and is two years older than schilling. schilling has somewhat durable and also had probably the second best season of his career last season. that's without even getting into the 'intangibles' that Yankees fans love to talk about

do i expect him to be a front line starter again? probably not, but assuming hes 'done' is just as silly.

Still not someone I want to see in the playoffs, regardless of this or future poor outings.
