Default Re: Crooked house game, quads on flop, your move?

This is one of the few poker situations that I feel warrants a quick punch to the throat of the dealer.

I dont say anything, and tap the deck when he passes it to me to cut. This should be interesting...

[/ QUOTE ]

Just cut the deck.

Could this guy really have set up the cards well enough to pull this off--hole cards and flop?

How did he set up the top "bunch of cards" without you noticing?

Either way you cannot continue playing in a game when you think you may be cheated.

[/ QUOTE ]

I didnt. And I dont know exactly how he setup the deck. I can think of a few ways to do it though, its not that hard is it.

What you need to do is contact a few nefarious characters known to be criminals and set up the game. If they will suspect you it may be better if you are there when it goes down. Shotguns and ski masks. Make sure they know what they are doing (kill the phone lines, disable cars, confiscate cell phones, rough up a couple players)

If it was me and I had cash in front (and not chips), I would've been so disgusted I would've just open-folded and stood up and left.

Now, if I had chips and had to "cash-out" somewhere, I would've been more discrete - probably flipping over my hand to his flop bet and saying - "Dude, I flopped quads, I can't take your money - besides I gotta run".

Then I would've cashed out never to return.

If you are sure of the stacked deck just turn your cards face up "lol I flopped quads, let's check it down". If the guy with the quad 8's/straight flush has the balls to show his hand as the winner he deserves to win the blinds.

[/ QUOTE ]

The correct answer. If the guys agrees, the game is rigged for sure. If the guy folds, even better. Of course, leave as soon as possible regardless.

If a straight flush card or an 8 hits, muck your hand and leave the game

this story is awesome, even if it was made up.

reminds me of the time my two friends were playing head up for 5 dollars. the game went for about an hour cuz they were so passive. finally i just put AKAK as the top 4 cards in one deck and shuffled the other deck and put them next to each other telling them "i'm gonna get a beer you guys deal for a second" and let fate decide.

the KK guy flopped a set of kings, i laughed

. So the guy to my right shuffles and I notice that he's fake shuffling, keeping the top bunch of cards in the same place.

Fold preflop. Then remember you left the stove on at home.

rofl I remember one time at a friend's house tourney it was down to 2 guys and I was 3rd place so I got to deal...it went on for about an hour and I got bored and started rigging the deck every time just to see how they'd play. One time i dealt them both AA and it just went bet, call, bet, call, check check. rofl.

Is poker legal in your state? If not, get them busted.
