I mean, how could the chip leader, and a well-known professional, get +128 against ANYBODY?

[/ QUOTE ]

I could see this line. Matusow is a big-time tilter. The question here is whether Ivey will lose a huge chunk of his stack when he recklessly moves in with AQ before Matusow implodes. I'd put it at even money, so +128 seems somewhat favorable. I think that neither of these guys takes the whole enchilada. Raymer seems to be the most well adjusted of the three and less prone to tilt. Raymer seems to be the most well adjusted of the three and less prone to tilt. I want to see Matusow get close and then lose it in his typical fashion. The aftermath will be pure hilarity--way better than Hellmuth crying on his mommy's shoulder.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, cause Ivey tilts all the time, never plays high pressure poker, and always throws his money in with AQ no matter what.

Default Tiger Woods v Phil Ivey

A "Who will place higher" bet on Pinnaclesports:

Tiger Woods in British Open -390
Phil Ivey in WSOP +350

Looks like the oddsmakers like Tiger's chances.

Interesting. Was this before or after Tiger's first round? I'd be inclined to take Tiger with his first round score but certainly not before he shot -6.

I'm one of those idiots who has Ivey +29000 to win it all. I'm hoping he makes the final table with a decent stack so I can hedge him at around -300 or so tomorrow morning.

I'm surprised how many people here felt that betting on the faves at odds of around 300/1 were ridiculous bets. If I had kidnapped you the day before the ME, put a gun to your head and told you I wouldn't shoot you if either

a) you guessed the exact day of the year I was born
or
b) predicted who would win the WSOP

I'm sure a lot of rational people would choose B.

I didn't see this earlier this morning. Looks like it was put up a short while ago.

I'm guessing it was after his first round then. I can't imagine anyone sane taking -300 on Tiger over Ivey's place finish.

don't know much about golf and its history if you wouldn't even consider taking Tiger this week to beat wherever Ivey finishes.

I am not saying it is a lock, but it certainly wouldn't be that farfetched considering Tiger won by 8 shots the last time they played this event at St. Andrews...

There are some very good golfers still on the course. Sergio just made the turn at -3, Vijay and Phil aren't too far behind.

If Pinny had offered this bet before Tiger tee'd off, Tiger would have only been a slight favorite against Ivey, I'm guessing around -150.
