Default Re: To all the naysayers

Lots to think about.

I do better on Party than almost anywhere else, so for me a skin bonus is a good thing.

Perhaps I over-estimate the number of raked hands per hour, but I do check after each session and it SEEMS like I'm paying rake on 3/4 of the hands I play. Perhaps that is an over-estimate.

I've mostly quit thinking about whoring the Crypto sites because I hate their software, and I've only played short-handed at UB even though I have $300 pending there in bonus.

I thought I was a reasonably diverse bonus whore, but I guess I'm not. Maybe it's time to branch out again.

[ QUOTE ]
Care to elaborate on who has better bonuses than this running right now?

Thanks

[/ QUOTE ]
Heres three off the top of my head.

Crazy Poker 700 raked hands for $100
Absolute 1000 raked hands for $100
BoDog 300-700 raked hands for $100 (Stud, depending on limits)

Empire 1500 raked hands for $100 (waste of time, plus a raked hand is minimum of .50 vs .25 at the others listed)

Nothing like having to clear more hands at higher rakes. Empire has fallen to the has beens department of poker sites now. No reason to keep them on the radar anymore.

They are kind of bitchy and prickish don't you think?

looks like im playing some .5/1 just to make them lose money on me... my way of protesting.

[/ QUOTE ]

Holy crap I am digging this idea.

Of course, it really doesn't matter if I clear it now at 5/10 and then play 2000 hands of .5/1 later.
But I like the idea of thinking they are losing money directly during that time that I am clearing the bonus.

I need some micro-limit practice anyway.
but I doubt I'll stay there for the whole way through.

Of course...this would be kind of a crappy thing to do to a site that juse sent me a free TV.

But between their crappy bonus structure now, kicking out the bonus-chasers that THEY THEMSELVES invited, the empire-500 fiasco, changing the Sunday night guaranteed to re-buys (I still have 2 free-rolls for the $200k tourney that I have to use) AND making each re-buy an extra entry-fee too, the crappy VIP structure, their generally incompetent support, etc etc...they have kind of ticked me off.

But...OTOH...they DID send me a free TV and I do like playing on the party-skins. So I guess I'm not ready to totally diss them quite yet.

if you play 3/6 and up and have 25% or better rakeback this isnt worth the effort at all. For people under these limits then I guess it may be.

[/ QUOTE ]
I just checked my db, and my rakeback deal (26%, not on Empire) pays about 2.3 cents per hand with a mix of $1/2 and $2/4 (8.9 cents gross rake per hand). If I were to clear this bonus completely at $1/2, assuming 200 raked hands an hour (83% raked, which is about what I've been seeing), it'd take 1800 hands. In that same amount of hands, I would've cleared approximately $41 in rakeback on the other skin.

Clearing this bonus is worth $60ish to me at small stakes. If I weren't on the road past the time it ends, I'd consider doing it. 15x is unfortunate, but I like seeing 15x better than I like seeing "Empire just froze my account." The real question (to me) is whether we're going to see both.

I'm a newbie here, but what if Empire already knows it would be very difficult for a "recreational" player to hit 1500 hands in 10 days and this is another one of their "tests" to see who the real bonus whores are? You'd almost HAVE to multitable for a long period to hit. That doesnt fit the marketing mold of "recreational" to me?

Noone is required to deposit for the max. This is not a conspiracy. Just a bonus. Eurobets bonus has been x15 for the last few months and multipokers is x20. Noone is out to get you.

Default A look at the numbers

During bonus time, Party/Empire $2/4 is pretty consistently raked at 55 per 100 hands or 55%. 1500 raked hands is 2,727 hands. At 225 hands/hr, that is a little over 12 hours or $8.25/hr.

At $2/4, this adds an overlay of 0.92 BB/100.

If one had good rakeback at another Party skin but none at Empire, one would be giving up around $76 in rakeback to earn $100 in bonus. So if no other bonuses were available at the time, this does beat rakeback but not by much. The breakeven point in this example would be 20x play-through.

One of the major benefits of high play-through is for those who play a winning game but don't play much. While their win rate doesn't go up during a bonus, their gross winnings do since they are forced to play many more hands in a set period of time than they usually do. If someone usually plays 200 hands/day but plays 300/day during this bonus, their gross winnings should go up 1.5x.
