Default Re: \"Clearly a victory for Bush\" . . .

There were protests against the war at the time, and some felt uncomfortable but didnt protest. The lack of finding WMD's and issues that have come out here about whether the dossier we were given was sexed up and whether the advice given to Blair about the legality of the war was as clear cut as presented to us. It did become an issue of thrus and the war has become more unpopular as the months go on and we dont pull out.

If WMD's had been found or if the pretence of WMD's hadnt been used then there would have been no protest vote about the war but also to let Blair know he cant do just what he wants and spin us round to his way of thinking which has been a feature of his leadership style on the war and many other issues.

The fact that particulary the tories focused on it for a lot of the campaign showed more their lack of ideas but has had an affect on the results, just not really in their favour.

roughly 22% of the eligible population voted for labour, this is the second lowest percentage of the vote they have recieved in any election since the second world war, it is less that the population supports blair and more that the tories are even worse and no one takes the lib dems seriously
