My thoughts on the payout (assuming 18 players):

1st - 50% ($900)
2nd - 28% ($504)
3rd - 14% ($252)
4th - 8% ($144)

This tourney should be top heavy, IMO, but since most of us are used to the stars payouts, we could do that, too. Of course, you can cut deals if you want.

I should mention that there's no rake/vig.

Not too keen on using the prize pool for bounties. Let's think of something else.

I was just trying to get away from uneven payouts ($504, $252, etc.) Instead of having to make sure we have change, if everyone can be paid easily with $20, $50 and $100 bills it makes life easier.

As far as the bounty stuff goes, maybe everyone puts up 10 bucks into the bounty pool and for each player you take out you earn their 10 bucks? Or make it 25 bucks. Or don't do it at all. Doesn't matter much.

So we'll ballpark the payouts to:
50% for 1st
28% +/- for 2nd
14% +/- for 3rd
8% +/- for 4th

in an effort to keep the payouts nice round numbers. The actual payout depends on attendance.

I'm in.

Put me on the alternate list and when you get the eventual "Wahhhh, my wife won't let me....wahhh, I have to go to a baby shower.....wahhhh, my wife owns my junk....wahhhhh",

then you can just put me on the list because I'll be there 100% gauranteed. All I say is "Listen woman, I'm going to play cards. Where you say? Worcester. When will you be home you say? Whenever the hell I'm done o'clock.

Now go cook me some dinner....."

And where's my cheesy-poofs? Very nice attitude man, hope you can squeek in.

Alright, fair enough. An extra 900 bucks would be GREAT! (although I may have already won more than that by the time the Poker Classic is complete, or I may be begging for money...) *smirk*

Alright, so no bounties? Or did you want everyone to bring another 10-25 bucks for a bounty prize pool?

Default Re: Betting Structure Proposal With 10K Starting Chips

Levels are 30 minutes each:

100/200
200/400
300/600
400/800

BREAK

500/1000 (100 ante)
600/1200 (200 ante)
800/1600 (300 ante)
1000/2000 (400 ante)

BREAK (color in $100 chips)

1000/2000 (500 ante)
1500/3000 (500 ante)
2000/4000 (500 ante)
2500/5000 (500 ante)

BREAK (color in $500 chips)

3000/6000 (1000 ante)
4000/8000 (1000 ante)
5000/10,000 (2000 ante)

With 18 players there will be 180,000 chips, so once it hits 5K/10K it should be pretty close to over, if we even get that far.

My above structure is a good 7 and 1/2 hours long. If we instead use 20 minute levels you'll shave 150 minutes off that (so 6 hours long instead)

I'm in. But why cap it at 18? The more the better.
