This does really suck re: the guys who sit down with $83 from 1/2. They'll be getting poached at 3/6 now :/ [/ QUOTE ] I think the amount of profit made from off of the ones that sit down with $75 - $100 cannot be underestimated and this is where the new 3/6 short tables are going to have the most impact on the 5/10 short game. |

W T F wow can i please have sbs party sn pleeeease thanks [/ QUOTE ] The funny thing is that SB was decent up to that point. Something like 30/15/2 stats and nothing out of line. And to be honest nothing like that had ever really happened to me before last night. This thread was just a perfect opportunity to post this hand . |

I had to make a big withdraw for cash purposes but i also noticed that games at 2-4 where way softer since the summer started.
This is a mixed belssing for me .... I tied to make the move to 5-10 once with 300BB but lost 700 in 4 hours so i hit eject and went back to 3/6. Now i have a safer place to learn but i think 3/6 full (where i am most comfertable) will soon dry up. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] You pay more rake, thats why you get more back. I wouldnt say thats an advantage. [/ QUOTE ] oh but it is. If you're a winning player more raked hands equals more money won. [/ QUOTE ] I read the rakeback is not calculated by the rake you paid when you won a pot. I think your "paid rake" is a fraction of what everyone on the table contributed in rake. I think that is a bit unclear, here is an example: 10 players on the table, player A wins and the rake for the pot is 10$. You think that Player A´s "rake paid" now is 10$ but regarding to what I read the rake paid for every player at the table will be increased by 10$/10players = 1$. I am not sure if that is correct but it makes sense to me. So it would not matter at all if you are a winning player or not, you pay the same rake and get the same rakeback. [/ QUOTE ] This is exactly why being a winning player does matter. It doesn't matter how many pots you win, you're getting a percentage of every one. Since most winning TAG's play far fewer hands than the donktastic lags, you're really getting a percentage of the rake they paid, hence, the more hands you play, the more you get. |

I'm pretty excited about it. I'm just getting back into poker and 6-max and wanted to start lower than 5/10 but didn't feel like dropping down to 1/2.
It will definitely make the 5/10 worse, but I'm not sure it will be so dramatic.. not after a little while at least. You'll eventually get people who are beating 3/6 who move up and are out of their league at 5/10. |
