Re: Best Dylan song?
Right now I'd say my favorites are Gates of Eden, It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), Stuck Inside a Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again, and Desolation Row. Really love a huge number of them though. Dylan is my all-time favorite songwriter.

If you like Dylan and Cash together then check out this. It's some unreleased recordings of the two of them from around the time of Nashville Skyline. 19 songs, free. regards, raisins [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for that link. I downloaded those. I have to say, that Johnny cash WTFPWNs Dylan vocally and sometimes Dylan tries to get a spontaneous harmony going with Cash but seems to be trying to hard and it just doesn't click, but it's great to hear both of them. I haven't heard every song yet, either, so maybe their voices work better together on some of the ones I haven't listened to. |

Re: Best Dylan song?
There's a version by Altan (Irish group) with a female singer that really rocks too -
My favorite cover is Nanci Griffin doing "Boots of Spanish Leather" - Bob actually played harmonica on that one and I think she played it for the 30th anniversary concert, though it was on video and not on CD North Country, of course, is Northern Minnesota where Bob was from - (at least he calls it the North Country in his book) - I had an ex-gf from around there and that song used to make me pour another shot pretty fast - but it was a nice song nonetheless RB |

It's a tie between: It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) and Visions of Johanna.
