Yeah that's a GREAT attitude. If a player needs rakeback to turn a profit, they aren't beating the games, and are a player you WANT to have around. Rakeback was a great way to keep some slightly more informed but less skilled players playing, players who will now go find something better to do.

Er no - if he is making money with the rakeback but losing it without he is still taking money off the table he just isn't quite out-running the full rake.. Frankly I can undertstand why the 'pros' are pissed, but life is change and online poker moves fast.. There are lots of sites out there chasing the rake $$ and graduated rakeback (rather than bonuses that let whores extract funds from sites by playing x00 hands and moving on) are clearly the way of the future.. Party and to a lesser extent Empire are both listed companies with huge reserves of cash - they can spend a lot of money fighting for market share (Empire certainly has to)and online poker players can only benefit. |
