Johnny5 and I looked EVERYWHERE for a good scarab or khepri image, and didn't find one. We both knew that two chips with big wings would not go over well, but I wanted to get these chips in front of you.

I actually like the "blue turkey", not as big a fan as the image on the $25.

This might be good on the green chip:

I agree that two winged inlays is a little repetative. I would love for this image to be a part of the set on either the blue or the green chip.

To satisfy my curiosity, I threw together a couple of samples in photoshop. I hope Ten and Johnny5 don't mind.

Great idea, and it looks good. However, it's not "Egyptian" enough for me. Honestly, without knowing any better, it just looks like a bug.

I liked the other one a lot, the one with wings. I've emailed the artist to ask for rights to use it. We'll see...

Good job on those pics man, they look good. Cool how you changed the beetle from green to blue.

Likewise: I also think the white $1 fits best with the fantasy casino theme

[/ QUOTE ]

White fits a fantasy casino theme if you experience tends to be in Atlantic City. This debate is raging because there is about a 50/50 split in Vegas and California poker rooms on white and blue for $1.

I'm not going to fold if Ten doesn't go to blue for the $1, but I'd love to have the blue/white poll percentages on all my all ins.

BTW, my mom bought about 23 $1 vegas chips on ebay. They are almost 50/50 white/blue. (another tidbit: 17 were Paulson, 3 were Chipco, 2 were Bud Jones, and one was BG ceramic. (a grey one is not pictured)).

My main (but not only) reason to leave the white as $1 was because of authenticity. So more evidence of this being a tough decision.

The funniest thing is, the one in the bottom left corner IS 50/50 blue/white!

edit: oh, and I'm one of the "BLUE IS BETTAR" people but have decided that that's one of the things I could concede and still be happy with my set. It's all about the shaped inlays, baby!

edit again: upon closer inspection I see that those are just really big blue edgespots, NEVERMIND! It looked like a "quartered" chip.

Come on man, it's nearly 2:1 in favor of a blue $1.

Do us blue birds win yet?

This isn't a contest or a democracy. I'm sure that Ten just wants to do what is right or what is best for the group, as long as it still jives with his ideals.

Long live the White $1 chip.

What is best for the group? Obviously, it's impossible to please everyone. Isn't the primary reason people get a custom set made is to please themselves and not others? I think there's a too much ego in this custom group buy.
