Re: Seems like you guys spend more time talking about money than poker
He's got a point about not counting your chickens before they're hatched.
Stick to realistic aspirations. Like turning pro and cashing in the WSOP within 2 years, despite currently being a losing player after 7 months and countless hours of play. |

Re: Seems like you guys spend more time talking about money than poker
Thank you CaucasianAsian,
Man I was just frustrated, because I want to talk poker non stop man, I hate going to work, because all it is, is keeping me from spending time learning more about poker, I am always at work waiting to go home and sign onto to Pokerstars and play some poker, I want to come home and log on here and see things about poker, go to cardplayer.com and read things, go to ESPN poker club and read the new Phil Gordon article, I told a friend tonight I think if I was having sex, I wouldn't enjoy it, because I'd be thinking about poker. This is were my interest level is, so having to sort through 200 posts about Taxes was very frustrating to me looking for poker strategy questions, since I have been reading and posting in the medium stakes Hold'em NL and PL forum and it has been much better since someone suggested that forum to me, in fact I saw you reply in that forum as well. Thank you for your kind words and offer to help |

Re: Seems like you guys spend more time talking about money than poker
I'm not one of the guys on here yet, so that's okay I'll take the abuse, fine whatever.
That's the way I grew up, tall, skinny, wimpy kid the son of a pastor who taught him to always turn the other cheek. I've been through countless ridicule, COUNTLESS That's what I love about life, the whole world can be against you and most times it is. How many great people were told they'd never amount to sh!t before they achieved, too many to name! Laugh all you want at me, really doesn't matter, I'm not listening I've come to this site to learn about poker, share thoughts on poker, ask questions, get answers, get answers that I don't agree with but appreciate the point of view. I don't have time for "catty" fights or to listen to your arrogance. I'm a loosing player, so hurl your insults at me. I'm sure you never were a loosing player, you skipped right over that hurdle and coasted right into winning, right? I've been playing 7 months, I should be a loosing player, just be careful, I know I'm a fish, but I'm a Big Fish In my last 21 tournaments I've made $189 and lost $153, who cares about the $36 profit, how many Fish do you know that keep track of there tournaments? review all of their hands for ways to improve, to second guess themselves? Also last time I left the Casino, it was with $220, Yes my Pokerstars account is at $0 right now, but tell me what you would have down with pocket Queens and a flop of Q,A,7 turn K, and river a 7??? No matter how you played it you would have gone bust after the flop when you faced a raise, the only move is all in, my opponent just happened to be blessed with AA prior to that I had taken my $200 in Pstars and doubled it up over the course of 2 weeks. I'm a break even player right now, just as likely to lose as I am to win, but I think about poker not everyday, nearly every hour. I challenge you to do the same, and if you want a piece of me, I welcome it, I'll take any and all challengers in another year, I'm not going anywhere So this is the last time I will answer any of you smart @sses on here. I never said I would be a finalist at the WSOP in 2 years. I said I would hope to the win the $10k to enter in 2 years, and hope to finish in the money in 5 years, But yeah you're right, I shouldn't have goals I should just quit and admit that I suck, that's an okay strategy for you, but I never will. |

Re: Seems like you guys spend more time talking about money than poker
Seriously, this guy is a gambling addict, and a very bad one too.
I started in february this year. I was a winner from day one (I ordered Winning Low Limit Hold'em before my first deposit), but I had tilting problems back then. After I ran my first $100 up to $700 and tilted it away, I deposited $500 and I never tilted seriously again (good bankroll management) and now I have $xx,xxx STOP playing poker so much. First take a break of a week or two. Then start reading good poker books and this forum. Start low and post difficult hands. Once you prove to be a winning player at a certain level move up. That's all. |
