"It's not a matter of semantics only, but of how you define "God" and His attributes. Since we christians define God in part as the supreme Truth who is All-Knowing as well as All-Just and omnipotent, then it should be evident that for us, God's "rules" and "opinions" are logically equivalent to TRUTH, and thus He can tell us what is just."

Can he tell us what tastes better?

[/ QUOTE ]

God tells us what tastes good because God = tastes good. Without God, all tastes like pigshit. God's flavor is good, not because of a separate standard of flavor, but because his nature defines yumminess.

And many verses explain that death entered the world because of man's sin.

[/ QUOTE ]

So man sinned, and then god imposed death on not just man, but every living thing including plants? Wow, that sounds reasonable.

[/ QUOTE ]

God is reasonable because God = Reasonable. Without God, all is unreasonable. God's actions are reasonable, not because of a separate standard of reasonableness, but because his nature defines reasonableness.

That circular logic misses the whole point, in fact it invalidates your whole system of morals. If you define everything as God, and God as right, than everything is right. But moral conduct, if it was handed down, should exist for a reason, no? Does god want us to be moral just so we can be DIFFERENT from everything else? Why is there murder, theivery, etc etc. Purely so that humans can somehow rise above?? Meanwhile not one single person lives a moral life according to your bible.
What is more reasonable, that the bible is handed down by god and goes against every SINGLE thing you can see with your own experience?

Or that the bible was NOT handed to us through god and goes against everything available to our senses precisely BECAUSE it has no divine inspiration...

If it says in the Book that pigshit tastes like Cookie Dough ice cream you'd best believe most of these god-fearing folk would be scooping pigshit onto waffle cones, then trying to make us eat them so we dont miss out!!

Absolute truth, whether concerning God or his "rules"/morality for us is not a matter of taste/opinion any more than the result of a mathematical equation is.
