Meh. McNabb gets way too much love I think. If he were white, he'd be Kerry Collins... above average QB that explodes when he gets 1a or 1b in receivers.

This is totally [censored] wrong. Nevermind that it strikes me as racist. Its just wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

Um, what about it was racist? I'm saying he and Collins are similar except for their race, and, at least in small part because Donovan's black (but more for other reasons), McNabb is overrated.

Go look at any of his conventional stats and you'll see a huge jump into upper tier last year. It's the same with Kerry Collins for this year.

I'd put them in groups.

Group A - Guys you'd kill to have on your team.
Group B - Guys you are happy with.
Group C - Guys you feel pretty ok about. Nothing special but they are definitely competant starters not holding the team back.
Group D - Guys who have their moments, but frankly, you'd rather see someone else.
Group F - Guys who need immediate replacement.

I think Group A basically includes two players - Brady and Manning.

Group B is much bigger.

Group C is very large. QB play in the NFL isn't that bad right now.

Group D basically is your journeyman rent-a-QB's. Ferrotte, Dilfer, Griese. You get the ideal.

Group F is the obvious. Harrington and the like.

Can't believe people are mentioning Eli -- he was terrible in 4 games last year, average in 1 more and great in 2 .

Collins is showing a 54% completion percentage, which is pretty much par for his career. From 2003-4 Mcnabb jumped from a 57%, whcih had been about normal for him, to 63% and he's about there so far this year. He made huge strides last year and as far as I know black quarterbacks don't get credited extra catches because they're black. I could be wrong....

Last year as a pocket passer he completed 64% of his passes, threw 31 TDs and 8 picks. Why should he run more?

[/ QUOTE ]

Mainly because he's good at it. How many times was he sacked last year? I haven't been following the Eagles, so all I know of them is from MNF versus Atlanta, but there were plenty of sticky situations during that game that McNabb could have gotten out of by running the ball.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you'd taken the time to pay attention during the game, you would realize that Chad Lavalais hit him in the sternum on the Eagles first drive and had to take off his pads and stretch after that drive in order to continue. He has been listed as questionable the last two weeks because of his sternum bruise which is extremely painful if hit. He also has a sports hernia and a strained groin, so it doesnt take a genius to figure out that its very painful for him when he runs.

BTW, that fine on Lavalais was total bullshit. I understand, they gotta protect their stars, but that was a clean hit.

Your comparison was very stupid for a large number of reasons. First off, bringing race into it was pointless. Second, despite having fewer weapons, McNabb's passer rating before TO was better (and way more consistent) than Collins. Third, his interception rate has always been way lower, and is one of the lowest of all time. Fourth, he can run - although maybe you meant he'd lose that if he were black.

Eli wasn't "great" in any games last year, but whatever. Roll all those performances together, and what do you get?

Comp%: 48.2 -- YPA: 5.3 -- TD/INT: 6/9 -- QBrat: 55.4

That was easily among the very worst in the league last year, hence "terrible." I'm a Giants fan, so I'm pulling for him real hard, and he's definitely got my hopes up this season. Nonetheless, his schedule this year has been as easy as last year's was difficult, so putting him anywhere near a Top 10 list seems ridiculous. The jury's still out.

There are 4 teams in the league who wouldn't trade their QB for anyone else.

1a. Brady
1b. P. Manning
1c. McNabb
1d. Vick

There are others that their respective teams really like alot, but would part with for one of those 4.

No particular order:
Leftwich
Palmer
E. Manning
Roethlisberger
Culpepper (well they used to)
Delhomme

The rest would be traded in a heartbeat except Farve for obvious reasons.
