I agree. I could never pay for lessons considering I can get free advice at will from legendary limit holdem expert Jesse Martin. . . .

That guy is a fish. I remembered he picked off the 75+ rebuys tournament at the Turning Stone Casino Resort back in 2001. He straight ran over the famous Paully Wad and has been living off his reputation ever since. Anything he tells you is pure garbage, you are better off coughing up the 5 dimes.

Who makes more $$ playing poker? You I'm sure. You don't take business advice from people who are less successful than yourself.. common sense... You should charge him if you had a trade...

[/ QUOTE ]

this is not true at all.

do baseball hitters have hitting coaches?
do wall street execs have management teams?
do actors have directors?

etc. teaching and doing are different, and im 100% sure TA can do both very well.

BK, i think this would be 5k very well spent.

I assumed this issue had been resolved one way or the other by now, but FWIW I couldn't agree more. I have been getting coached by Tommy just over the phone and can't believe that he wouldn't be extremely helpful for you. It's not like he just teaches you when to raise the turn. The guy is a genius.

Flub would be worried about TA's style throwing a spanner in BK's winning style and turning him into a less winning player.

Changing one part of one's game can have unexpected consequences in other parts of one's game. When you're already at a very high level it's much easier to make a change that lessens your game then raises it.

The 5k is meaningless compared to if your game will improve or get worse. And if you're playing as a 2/100 BB winner it may be better to protect your current game from changes which could worsen it rather then trying to make changes to improve it.

Great I've said it three times in three different ways. If three people agreed with me I'd be rather suprised.

One more thing. If you want a good time and a different perspective at poker I'd suggest flying to Ljubljana. The guy continues to kill the high stakes party games and the girls will be much nicer there then in San Francisco.

If TA could make a killing online that is what he would be doing. BK if this was actually a serious post i think finding someone who has made in excess of $1,000,000/year for last two years off limit poker on the internet and paying him whatever he wants for a couple of days of coaching would be the avenue.

the price of tommy's services for you are likely to be 5k*(1-.4) or 3k. cost includes lost $ from playing etc. + price.

may be worth it if you want to play live more.

Could you give us some examples of why you say he's a genius? He seems to have a talent for poetic writing. Maybe he should be declared 2+2's Poet Naureate. But in terms of becoming a better player, I've not been overly impressed with anything he's written here so far.

Do you have the ability to post anymore without including some sort of equation and/or function? It seems like you can't even say "fold" anymore... it has to be: "EV(playing hand | action thus far) < 0.0"
