I think his initial post was genuine, then he realized how stupid it was and decided to get all troll-y on us.

A wayyy more logical (just barely) "out of the box" method to evaporate all this water (as if evaporation will magically make all contaminants vanish) would be simply to light up all the natural gas leaks and boil it away!

The idea dominates the Mars approach by leaps and bounds.

You obviously aren't taking into consideration how cool it would be to have a giant rock tethered to the earth 100+ miles into space.

True, but a giant gas fire would be pretty cool too.

Someone is thinking "outside the box" out there!

Next step: someone with a zillion Party points should order some towels and polos post haste!

Seized Knockoffs Given To Katrina Evacuees

POSTED: 4:24 pm EDT September 5, 2005

WASHINGTON -- They escaped Hurricane Katrina with nothing more than the clothes on their back. And now, they'll be wearing clothing with labels like Tommy Hilfiger and Yves St. Laurent.

They might not even mind that the labels are phony.

Hurricane survivors in the Houston Astrodome will be able to choose from counterfeit and abandoned clothing, as well as toys, dog food, and sheets and blankets.

They're among the items seized by federal customs officials. And now, they're being pulled from the warehouses and made available to hurricane survivors.

The agency has about a million items in storage. Customs officials are going through the inventory to see what might be useful to hurricane survivors.

A side benefit would be that all the looters who stuck around would be boiled as well. That would show them.

They should dump it into a landfill where it would easily evaporate. Pumping it into the river is very stupid because it would just submerge and stay underwater forever. By pumping it to a shallow landfill it would evaporate and we would no longer have to be concerned with it.

Genius. I have a similar plan. Tell me what you guys think.

I think we should re-route the power coupler from the tri-lithium crystals into the main deflector array. Then we should position the Enterprise in Geo-stationary orbit above NO. We then run all of our warp engine output throught power coupler and through the main-deflector array and hit NO with a blast massive blast of warp-power. That should immediately evaporate all the water, problem solved.

That's just silly. The main deflector array cannot possibly handle that much power.
