Pot can make an otherwise sane person go insane with one heavy joint. It is inextricably linked with paranoia, and I personally know someone who suffered paranoid schizophrenia for months after the third time smoking weed. Try and get just to stop smoking weed and thing swill get better.

If he has unresolved issues running around in his head, it will only amplify them.

And it sounds to me like he's done some sort of hallucinogen as well, most likely acid.

Acid and weed together are a recipe for disaster in an unprepared mind.
